Buller Wines is a 100 year old boutique winery situated in Rutherglen. A multi award winning winery and the home of Three Chain Road Distillery and we are looking for people with a zest for life, an enthusiastic nature and a love of wine and gin to share the story of our award winning wines and gins and world famous fortifieds. Buller Wines is a destination for quality wine, exciting new gins, fabulous food, fun events and celebrations. Cellar Door Team Member

Qualifications & experience

Knowledge of wines an advantage but not essential, onsite training provided

Be holder of a current RSA, or be prepared to obtain same

Previous sales or cellar door experience beneficial

Enthusiastic, vibrant, fun and happy disposition

Must be fully COVID vaccinated

Tasks & responsibilities 

Familiarise yourself with brand stories for ranges of wines and gins

Work with management and staff to co-ordinate events

Facilitate and conduct wine and gin tastings

Process wine and gin sales for customers via till and EFTPOS facilities

Process, prepare and dispatch phone, wine club and email orders

Deal with correspondence and phone enquiries

General housekeeping duties – restocking, cleaning, recording stock movement

Full Time / Salary

Brand Manager & Cellar Door Attendant

Hours of Employment

5 days a week from 10am till 5pm (32.5 hours per week).  You will be expected to work a minimum of 4 weekend days per month, including major events and functions.

Primary objectives

Liaise with General Manager for all objectives

The Design & Digital Marketing in developing and co-ordinating events.

Responsible for prompt and courteous service to customers

Actively promote and grow the sale of the Company’s wine products and Wine Club Membership

Maintain high standard in presentation, cleanliness and neatness of cellar door and surrounds

MajorResponsibilities

Brand Management

Building brand stories for each range of wines

o  Maintain brand message on collateral and media

o  Social media

o  Website management & updates

Ongoing development of Buller Wines story to be used in marketing (social media, on website etc.)

Ongoing development of Gin back story

Halliday and other print media management

Improving branding for marketing purposes

Event organisation and calendar of events– in conjunction with the Digital Marketing manager

Pick and Pack internet, wholesale and Wine Club orders

Cellar Door Staff

-         Opening and closing premises

o  Open premises in accordance with daily hours of operation

o  Ensure opening/start of day procedure is followed prior to customer arrival

o  Ensure end of day procedure is followed after customers have departed

o  Check with supervisor for next day requirements, prior to clocking off

o  Communicate any issues arising during your shift to your manager/supervisor

o  Responsible for change/float, summary/end of day reports

o  Ensure premises is secure on departure

-         Customer Service

o  Responsible for the delivery of prompt and courteous service to customers

o  Facilitate and conduct wine and gin tastings for customers

o  Promote responsible service of alcohol

o  Maintain sound knowledge of Company and competitor wine products

o  Actively promote the sale of the Company’s wine products and promotional materials

o  Actively aim to increase customer expenditure

o  Process transactions via till and EFTPOS facilities

o  Deal with correspondence and phone enquiries

o  Process, prepare and dispatch phone and email orders.

o  Winery tours

-         General Cellar Door maintenance/cleaning

o  Ensure Cellar Door Sales premise and surrounds are kept clean and tidy at all times.

o  General housekeeping duties including vacuuming and dusting, cleaning of outside tables etc.

o  Cleaning and polishing of glasses used for tastings.

o  Ensure shelving and fridges housing wine products are well stocked and presented.

o  Record all stock movements.

o  Other tasks as required.

Full Time / Salary

Onsite Gin Sales Co-ordinator

Production & Bottling Line Worker

Hours of employment  As required Monday to Friday with possible weekend work during vintage

Primary Objectives

o To ensure quality wine production through the efficient execution of cellar operations under the direction of the winemaker.

o Vintage related Tasks

o Tanker Operations

o Wine transfers, racking, additions

o Barrel Operations

o Assist with bottling and packaging of wine and gins.

o Maintain a safe work environment and carry out tasks in a safe manner.

o Maintain general winery upkeep and cleanliness.

o Maintain cellar hygiene to a high standard.

o Undertake careful use of equipment.

o Report damage & faults as required.

o Any other tasks as may be required
